Spring in Maryland means the Preakness. It also means the Fasig-Tipton 2-year-old in training sale. We were busy during the first day, patrolling and trolling the grounds to bolster our already decent crop of 2-year-olds for 2011. Buzz Chace and I selected two new purchases during Monday's session. We bought a filly by Badge Of Silver and a filly by Latent Heat. We are going back for more on Tuesday.
Our 2-year-old crop has now reached 15, not all of them are at the Laurel barn yet but will be soon. In this game, there is nothing like working with young horses, fills you with hope and promise. What else is there?
